About Me
I’m a freelance web and graphic designer living in Chelmsford, Essex, England.
I have previously worked for over four years at Dovercourt Ford and the Dutton Forshaw Motor Company Ltd. (now Lookers plc) as a graphic designer, where I gained much experience working in company-wide marketing team with a group of both graphic and web designers. I have produced work for Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Jaguar, Volvo, Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Audi, Citroën, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, smart and Volkswagen.
Although I’d long considered myself a print-based designer, I’ve always been keen on design and technology, so when the opportunity came along to enjoy the two together, there was no turning back. Web design has since become my primary focus, and I’ve continuously made it my aim to learn as much as I can about emerging standards, technologies and techniques in this ever-changing industry.
I’m experienced with HTML and CSS, always adhering to industry recognised W3C web standards. I have over ten years’ experience with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, and am also comfortable using both Photoshop and Fireworks.
I’m a proud tech and web geek, and a big fan of open-source software, including Firefox, Chromium, Ubuntu, and Android. I keep up-to-date with the web design industry, and, well, most things using my trusty old friend, Google Reader.
I love loads of music from a wide spectrum of genres, including: electronic, rock, indie, ambient, trance and everything in-between. Some solid favourites include M83, Sasha, DJ Shadow, Pendulum, Coldplay, Turin Brakes, Burial, Kasabian, Boards of Canada, The Crystal Method, Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Feeder, Hybrid, Lostprophets, and the Chemical Brothers.
Other hobbies and interests include F1, watching films, and the odd bit of PC gaming.
Also, I am the Stig.
